Understanding Account Value
Your Account Value represents the total value of assets, liabilities, and unrealised profits or losses in your account. It is calculated as follows:
- Cash on the account – Includes your cash balance and transactions not yet booked.
- Market value of investments – Covers stocks, bonds, options, ETFs, and other funds.
- Unrealised profits/losses – Reflects gains or losses from open margin positions such as CFDs, FX, and futures.
- Cost to close – Includes commission, exchange fees, stamp duty, and other exit costs.
- Total accruals – Consists of financing accruals and corporate actions accruals.
Potential Discrepancies in Account Value
- The Account Details section reflects real-time values, while the Positions module may show delayed prices based on your market data subscription.
- The Account Summary/Details balance may differ from the Positions module, as some components use slightly different pricing to protect clients from forced position closures due to short-term price fluctuations.
