What is CHESS / HIN or custody?

CHESS (Clearing House Electronic Sub-register) is ASX’s share transaction and settlement system. A unique Holder Identification Number (HIN) is allocated to anyone with CHESS-sponsored shares.

Custody means when trading ASX Stocks, ETFs, ETCs and Bonds with Totality Wealth Limited in a custody share trading account, Saxo Bank A/S is acting as the custodian of the assets. These assets are held on your behalf by Saxo Bank’s sub-custodian Citibank, under Totality Wealth Limited.

What can I trade pre-market and after-hours?

Totality offers pre-market and after-hours trading access to the major US exchanges, including New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, American Stock Exchange and Bats BZX.

Most stocks listed on these exchanges are eligible for pre-market and after-hours trading, however their availability is determined by the order volume.

Are there brokerage fees when buying or selling an ETF?

When buying or selling an ETF, brokerage fees typically come into play. These fees are charged by the brokerage firm facilitating the transaction. Here's a breakdown of what you might encounter:
Trading Commissions: This is a fee per trade, though many brokers now offer commission-free ETFs.
Account Maintenance Fees: Totality does not charge account maintanance fees. Some brokers charge for managing your account, regardless of trading activity.

It's essential to review your broker’s fee schedule to understand all potential costs associated with ETF transactions.
