A cost summary outlines all the expenses linked to a financial transaction or investment. It offers a clear breakdown of fees, charges, and deductions that could affect your overall returns.
Where can I view a summary of all my costs?
You can find a summary of all costs in the Cost summary section of the Portfolio report. In the Portfolio report ‘External product cost’ are the expected indirect costs of instruments.
1) Login to Totality Edge or Apex.
2) Click the 'person profile icon' within the top right of the page.
3) Click Download Report.
4) Select 'Portfolio report', the account and time period and press PDF.
This will download to your desktop.
Investment Management Costs
Transaction Costs – Charges related to trades executed by the investment firm or other parties, including commissions, FX spreads, currency conversions, exchange fees, and transactional taxes.
Ongoing Costs – Recurring fees paid to investment firms for their services, such as account interest payments and fees to brokers or money managers.
Ancillary Costs – Additional charges not covered under ongoing costs, including custody and service fees imposed directly by the investment firm, as well as applicable taxes.
Incidental Costs – Adjustments, corrections, and performance fees charged separately by a money manager or agent.
Financial Instrument Costs
Ongoing Costs – Recurring costs tied to the management of financial instruments, deducted during the investment period. These may include FX rollover costs, P/L interest, CFD financing charges, borrowing costs, carrying costs, and external ETF or mutual fund expenses.
Transaction Costs – Charges associated with financial instruments, such as fund house commissions, FX swap currency conversions, withholding taxes, stamp duties, and clearing fees.
Third-Party Payments
Third-Party Payments – Payments received by investment firms or external parties for investment services. These are itemised separately and expressed as both a cash amount and percentage. Examples include fund inducements, retrocessions, partner commissions, and revenue-sharing arrangements.
