Why do I receive the error, ‘You have insufficient cash in the account to make this trade’?

There are several possible reasons why you might receive this message:

• Insufficient cash balance: The available cash in your account is too low. Please add funds or reduce the size of your trade.
• Pending buy orders: When you place a buy order, the system considers both your available cash and the cash reserved for any pending buy orders. You can cancel any pending buy orders and try placing your trade again.
• Market orders placed while the market is closed: These might be rejected because the system applies an additional cash buffer based on the instrument’s risk rating. This buffer must be available in your account to complete the purchase. In this case, placing a limit order is recommended, as it sets a maximum purchase price.
