Why have my positions been locked after initiating a transfer?

Once you request to transfer your securities out, the selected securities will be locked for processing immediately. This means:

  • You will not be able to create new orders on these positions.
  • You will not be able to elect for voluntary corporate actions.
  • If you attempt to reduce or close a position or elect for a corporate action, you will receive the message: "Position is blocked and cannot be closed."

Important Considerations Before Requesting a Transfer

  • Ensure that all related orders are cancelled before submitting the transfer request.
  • If the securities you wish to transfer are being used as collateral, their collateral value will be removed once the transfer request is made, which may impact your margin utilisation.

Monitoring Your Transfer

After submitting a transfer request, your securities will remain visible in your portfolio until they are fully transferred to the new broker, allowing you to monitor their status during the transfer process.

What if I need to close or reduce the position now?

To close or reduce the position, the transfer request must be cancelled.
