Delays in Receiving Extra Shares from Dividend Elections
When dividends are paid in cash, they are credited to your account on the pay date. However, if you choose to receive extra shares instead of cash, there may be a delay before they appear in your Open Positions.
Why Does This Happen?
Totality must first receive the extra shares from its Custodian/Registrar before they can be credited to your account. The length of the delay depends on the country where the company is incorporated.
Example of Delays
For extra shares issued by a UK-listed company, a standard delay of approximately 20 days.
